O caso do Banco Alimentar de Setúbal- Portugal, num contexto de inovação social
Abstract
This case approach social innovation attending to the best practices to collaborative management, in the distribuition of food using the exemple of the Setúbal Food Bank is a Private Social Solidarity Institution (IPSS) that defends the right to food for all. Its mission is to “fight against waste” and guides all its activity on the principles of giving, sharing and solidarity. In pursuit of its mission, it collects from the agri-food sector all types of food products which for various reasons are not tradable, distributing them to people in proven poverty through their partner social solidarity institutions located throughout the world, district of Setúbal and municipality of Odemira. It is an institution at the service of other institutions, which has realized that together it does more than individually to minimize food deprivation.
