Abstract

This case analyzes the actions of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge within the framework of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), focusing on promoting the use of renewable energies such as wind and solar. These initiatives aim to reduce dependency on polluting energy sources, along with other measures such as the progressive closure of nuclear power plants by 2035. This plan has sparked debate over energy stability, environmental safety, and economic costs. The case will also address comparisons with countries like France, which have adopted different strategies by prioritizing nuclear energy as the backbone of their energy transition. The purpose of this analysis is to reflect on the technical, ethical, and social challenges of transitioning toward decarbonization.
