Abstract

This case presents an example of marketing with cause developed by the tourist agency Tarannà, located in Barcelona. Solidarity trips are a special type of trip promoted by Tarannà, in which part of the final amount to be paid by the client goes to charitable causes, specifically to finance development projects in the destination countries. Solidarity trips promote the local economy, favor environmental protection, preserve the culture of the destination country, its diversity and Heritage. They are presented as a solution to the negative footprint that conventional tourism leaves behind in many ecosystems, affecting the flora, fauna and socioeconomic development of neighboring communities.
