Diageo Iberia: ¿Puede una empresa de producción y venta de bebidas alcohólicas ser socialmente responsable?

Abstract

Present in over 180 countries, Diageo is the world leader in production and sales of premium spirit drinks, and aims to reconcile the responsible marketing of its brands with an active social commitment with its consumers and with the values and concerns of the society. In line with the general policy of the company, the activity of the subsidiary of Diageo in Spain, Portugal and Andorra, Diageo Iberia, also appears to be governed by principles of transparency and responsibility with its stakeholders. Our work analyses the voluntary adoption by Diageo Iberia of several commitments with its customers, its employees, its environment and the society in general; and this analysis allows us to conclude that the Corporate Social Responsibility is not inconsistent with the fact that this company is engaged in the production and sales of spirits.
