The corporate social responsibility of Apple Inc.

Abstract

Apple, Inc. is a U.S. company that designs and produces electronic equipment. Its hardware products include the iPhone smartphone, the iPad tablet computer, the Mac personal computer, the iPod portable media player, etc. Apple’s software includes the macOs and iOS operating systems, the iTunes media player, and the Safari web browser, among others. Apple was created on 1 April 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Mike Markkula; and in 2015, it became the most valuable company in the world. As of September 2019, the company had approximately 137,000 full-time equivalent employees, $ 260,174 million total sales net, and $ 55,256 million net income. Considering both these financial data and its global presence, it seems evident that the Apple's activities may have a huge impact in hundreds of stakeholders. Therefore, we put the focus on its corporate social responsibility, understood as the reflect of Apple's commitments with its stakeholders.
