Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has increased its importance in the strategy of organizations in the last years. Among the CSR practices applied by companies, there are some directed to the human capital of organizations, such as the policies for protecting employees against discrimination.

In this case we analyse the policies that Accenture applies for protecting LGBT employees. First, we briefly explain the origins of the company, and in the case we show the standards the UN established to protect LGBT employees, and the measures Accenture has taken to apply them, such as paying the medical treatments of transgender people who work for the company, and the creation of a global LGBT employee network in all the countries it operates.

As a conclusion, we highlight that applying the standards that the UN proposed in 2017 is an important step towards the normalization of LGBT people.
