Bibliobús: 25 años animando a leitura na provincia de Segóvia

Abstract

25 years ago, a mobile library project was set up by Provincial Council of Segovia in order to increase reading habit in the province, especially in villages and the furthest ones from the provincial capital, that for one or another reason, they did not have the resources of a public library.

Mobile library social action must be told for many reasons. This year, the Bibliobús in Segovia was recognized with the Mobile Libraries Professional Association (ACLEBIM) Award in the course of the VI Mobile Libraries National Congress, organized in Burgos. This Award recognized his career and his spirit of overcoming. Besides approaching culture to villages, they cooperate with other social projects, for example with Cáritas in this moment collecting food for the social commissary in order to help people in economic difficulties.
