Abstract

The subject of this case study is the publicity campaigns used by the DGT and their effectiveness. The most important responsibility of the DGT is to reduce the number of accidents that occur on our roads each year. This is why the DGT use publicity campaigns to educate the general public on road safety issues.

With the objective of studying the effectiveness of these campaigns, we have studied their evolution especially focusing on their two latest campaigns. These are titled "The most expensive objects in the world" and "Move with consciousness". The first is centered on focusing the attention of the public on how just a tiny mistake behind the wheel can end in tragedy. The second uses suggestions concerning other methods of transportation, such as the use of public buses, as a way of reducing the number of vehicles on the roads.
