Abstract

The enterprise that we have chosen for this project is called Flama Surf, which works on the production of wooden surfboards. The graphic designer Sergi Galanó, saw an opportunity that could stop the unsustainability of the traditional surfboard manufacturing system, and created this enterprise. He managed to combine three of his passions: creativity, surf and environmentalism. Thanks to this, he has removed a great part of chemicals and petroleum-derived materials that were used. This way he is going back to the cause and roots of surfing.

Not only wants he to achieve his main aim, getting a 100% organic wooden table, but also, raising social awareness. Flama is known all around the world and in 2014 he was invited to the Wooden Surfboards Day in Currumbin Alley, based in the Australian Gold Coast. Also, he is in the organization board of certain events; such as the second edition of the European Wooden Surfboard Meet which took place this year 2018, also meetings, talks in schools, etc. where he spreads his philosophy and shows his projects.

We just want you to let you see how Flama is raising awareness on the universe of surf. How a world that is so close to nature, is gradually destroying it.
